HAS LOVE FOUND YOU? UNDERSTAND WHAT LOVE MEANS FOR HIM

Has love found you yet? Yes? No? Whichever way, there is something super important you need to know! And I am about to share this with you. It is what love means for a man.

I was so shocked when I learned about it. I thought I knew all about it already. You know, that men don’t feel love the way us women do and that respect means everything to them.

While that is true, there was something I learned in addition to it. You may or may not already know it but here goes….

When a man tells you he loves you (the genuine kind, not the rascals who just come and play with your heart), he is not feeling butterflies in his tummy. Do you understand? He does not feel butterflies. Or palpitations. He is not imagining walking with you under the moonlit sky or trudging along the beach at dusk with the sunset glow falling on your faces.

He is also not counting in his head how many groomsmen he will have. Heck, he doesn’t even imagine himself showing up at that wedding you’ve planned in your head the moment he said “hello, beautiful!”

When a man tells you he loves you, he is not necessarily looking for your time and attention the way us women want it.

God created us women as a gift to men. We are special. We are the added spice to their lives. We are the rare creation (it doesn’t matter that we outnumber men in the current population climate). We are the gift that keeps giving. We are God’s final attempt at being a genius. He saved His best for last. That is why we long to be treated specially. Shower us with attention, gifts, adoration and lies if need be!

But men, they don’t see all of this. They don’t think this way, and it is not their fault. They were constructed differently. Oh, extremely differently.

When a man tells you that he loves you and wants you, he is thinking:

I found her! My missing rib!

She is the one to help me fulfil my purpose on earth!

She is the one to help me multiply the earth with my seed (sounds archaic lol. I just mean produce babies)

She is the one to help me exercise dominion at my job, in my circle, in my finances.

She will do this by being present, thoughtful, creative, caring, sacrificing, enduring with me in tough times, not questioning my judgment, trusting my decisions even if it looks stupid.

She will do this by believing in me, believing in my vision, protecting the products of my loins with all her tenderness and motherliness.

She will do this by respecting me even when I don't look like I deserve it because I deserve it!

Sis, a lot of guys don’t even know that this is how their brains function. It is so much a natural part of them that they don’t even know this is what they are looking for. If you have wondered why a man chose one lady and not the other, it could be because of this.

So, when he says he loves you, he is telling you that “I am merely giving you a chance to do what God sent you on earth to do. Don’t come and stress me. Let’s meuve and fulfil my purpose. Lady, God sent you here for exactly that, so please, cease all the antics!”

Darling girl, I need you to sit with this for a while. When you understand what love means for a man, your life could be easier.

In all thy getting, get understanding.

When you understand this, you will choose wisely. Then you will be able to love him the way he needs. Submitting to him as your head will be less burdensome. You will understand when he seems distant and connects less. You won’t try to turn him into your girlfriend. That crap is stressful for them.

Men were made to do. To work. To rule. To be in charge. To conquer. They can only do this when they focus and cut off distractions. So, if the woman in their life will be the main distraction and stress-causer, they will sack her.

I’m not justifying any man’s behaviour. I am saying how men are, naturally. So that if your beloved makes time to listen to all your drama, goes shopping with you etc, you will appreciate him. He was not made to do those things.

Do you remember, when I said here that even God gave Adam lions and cows when He first thought that man should not be alone? And Adam lived with those crazy animals and did not even realise he was missing anything. Until God in His precious wisdom had an aha moment and was like:

 “Damn! Jesus! I’ve figured it out! I have the best companion for man!”

Jesus goes : “spill it already, dad!”

God: Woman. A softer, curvier more beautiful version of man.

Meanwhile, Adam was clueless this whole time of his need. He was not even awake when Eve was being manufactured. He knew nothing about how she was to function. He woke up one hot afternoon when he heard the tiger and flamingo chatting about the strange thing laying in their midst. Lo and behold. Woman. Eve.

Sorry, I digressed. But you get it?

All a man is thinking about is how best to conquer in life and he chooses you to help him with that.

Ladies, I am tired of the arguments. Find scriptural basis for your arguments and present them. Until then, the Bible is clear on the issue.

God’s intention when he was creating you was to be a suitable helpmeet to some man. A companion. Enter your relationship and marriage with this at the front of your mind. Don’t go in expecting cuddles, 6 hours of kissing and all that dreamy mumbo-jumbo. You have a purpose. Aim to fulfil it. Everything else will be added.

I dare extend Matthew 6:33 here. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added.

When you are focusing on fulfilling your purpose in your man’s life, the added benefits will come. If you choose a good man when the time comes, or if you have already chosen a good man, his love for you will deepen, his respect for you will grow,  and he will honour you.

Men really want to do this, believe me. They want to treat their women as queens because a king finds joy in having a queen. So be a queen. What is the king going to do with a peasant? Forget Cinderella and all that nonsense. There is a reason they are called fairy tales.

Welcome to reality. Straighten the creases in your pretty dress. Fix your crown, hold your head up high, and be the gift that God created you to be. Be a daughter of the King. Be a woman.
